DESCRIPTION
The Safariland® 6300RDS holster is specifically designed for firearms with red-dot sights mounted to them. This holster with the Automatic Locking System (ALS®) builds on the foundation of the Self Locking System (SLS®). It locks the weapon in all directions upon holstering, it's operable with the thumb, and the weapon can be drawn straight out of the holster with no twisting required.
PRODUCT FEATURES
AUTOMATIC LOCKING SYSTEM (ALS®)
Safariland®'s signature and battle-proven locking system. It provides a level I active retention system rather than the passive retention grip provided by conventional Kydex holsters. The ALS® automatically locks the weapon in all directions upon holstering and is released with the thumb. Drawing and holstering is smooth and fast.
This is the most popular retention level for military and competitive shooters, as it firmly locks the firearm into place, keeping it from dislodging during running or moving through obstacles.
SELF LOCKING SYSTEM (SLS®)
Provided as an extension of the ALS®, the holster is featured with a so-called "rotating hood" that covers the back of the handgun. By combining the ALS® and SLS® security mechanisms, a total of three manual hand movements are required to release the firearm from the holster. This provides the holster with a level III retention system that is still easy to disengage and allows for a fast draw.
This retention level is the most common model for patrol and general duty use, as it makes access harder for an adversary in hand-to-hand situations.
CONSTRUCTION
The holster is made from a thermoplastic alloy called STX Tactical®. This material is thermoformed around the firearm at close tolerances for an exact fit. This hard shell finish is renowned for its incredible strength and abrasion resistance, making it ideal to protect both the handgun, light and optic. On top, it is exceptionally easy to clean and maintain.
Safariland®'s holsters also feature a Suede lining on the inside to protect handgun's finish.
FOR FLASHLIGHTS
The 6300RDS series of holsters are engineered for the use with a specific mounted flashlight. The holster will NOT work without one.
FOR RED-DOT SIGHTS (OPTIONAL)
The 6300RDS holsters are provided with a cut for specific red-dot sights or models with the same general profile. The holster can work without a mounted sighting system too.
MID-RIDE HEIGHT
The included Safariland® Universal Belt Loop (UBL) puts the holster at a mid-ride height. This height is considered to be the best for most general and shooting applications as it puts the holster at the optimal height for an efficient draw.
OPTIONAL QUICK LOCKING SYSTEM
Constructed of injection molded nylon, the receiver plate can be attached at different angles according to user preference. The QLS (Quick Locking System) allows for quick transfer of gear between attachment points such as a belt loop, tactical leg shroud or other stable platform. The QLS fork and plate combination passes the Level I Retention™ pull test. Allows users to rearrange gear quickly and easily without the use of tools.
OPTIONAL TOURNIQUET SYSTEM
The Safariland® Tourniquet Pouch is the ultimate OEM solution designed to fit all Safariland® duty holsters. The versatile tactical hole pattern also accommodates any Safariland® tactical accessory. The bracket is manufactured from high-grade 5052-H32 aluminum, ensuring robust performance and longevity. The tourniquet pouch, engineered with a unique two-half design and rubber O-rings, securely retains major tourniquet brands and integrates seamlessly with the Safariland® bracket and other tactical setups.
