MoG LIGHT DUTY; Are these THE BEST shooting gloves on the planet?

Finding a pair of shooting gloves that balances sensitivity, protection, and durability can be a tough task. But in this video, we’re going to introduce you to a glove that nails all three – the Masters of Gloves Target Light Duty 8111

We discovered MOG on Instagram, reached out, and, to our surprise, learned they were also based in Belgium. They invited us to their HQ, where we got a hands-on look, comparing a box full of tactical gloves from brands like Magpul, Mechanix, and PIG. The MOG gloves stood out, and after that meeting, we each got a sample pair to test, which we’ve been using ever since.

But before we dig into this subject if you want quality gear and like our work, please support us by buying over our store!

THE BUILD

Let’s get into the build and features of the Target Light Duty 8111. Available in black, coyote brown, wolf gray, and multicam, these gloves offer a range of options to suit different environments.

Starting with the palm, it’s made from Dex-suede, a synthetic suede known for its high dexterity and sensitivity. A silicone print adds extra grip, perfect for ropes, weapons, and other surfaces. The finger material is incredibly thin – only 0.6mm – providing excellent tactile feedback. Both the index and middle fingers are reinforced for added durability, and the trigger finger features flex joints for smooth movements.

Between the fingers, a stretch fabric allows flexibility and quick drying. Most fingers have a ‘no-seam-under-nail’ design for comfort, while the trigger finger remains flat-tipped for easy trigger access. Moving to the thumb, it’s designed with a C-grip cut for durability and protection against barrel heat.

The gloves slip on easily, thanks to a pull-tab for carabiner attachment, and a snug-fit wrist stretch material offers maximum movement freedom and long-term wear. Reinforcement at the heel adds friction resistance, ideal for physical activities and long-range shooting.

CERTIFICATIONS

As for performance, these gloves aren’t just built well; they’re certified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which is unusual for shooting gloves. They comply with standards like EN ISO 21420:2020 for comfort and safety, EN 388:2019 for abrasion and cut resistance, and EN 407:2020 for heat protection, withstanding up to 100°C for 10 seconds.

OUR EXPERIENCE

From our experience, these gloves feel like a second skin and hold up longer than other thin models. The grip provided by the Dex-suede palm is unmatched, especially valuable for tactical shooting in wet and dirty conditions. While my brother finds the cut around the thumb occasionally snags his pistol slide, I haven’t encountered this issue myself – as glove fit can vary by hand shape.

As for downsides, the trigger finger seam under the nail could be uncomfortable for some, and these gloves lack a sweat-wiping thumb patch. There’s also no knuckle protection, though it’s not a major need for this glove’s purpose. And though they may not have the ‘cool factor’ of some other gloves, they’re competitive in price and perform exceptionally well, especially for what’s available in Europe.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, these gloves deliver unique benefits that set them apart, and they’ve redefined what a tactical glove can be. Masters of Gloves is an apt name for this brand, and we consider the Target Light Duty 8111 our top pick.
